The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) announced on July 22nd that GRA, Inc. and its partner, FYI – For Your Information, Inc., were awarded a five-year management services blanket purchase agreement (BPA). The five-year BPA runs until July 24, 2016. FYI began work with DOL back in 2000 as the prime contractor. This award has a value of up to $102 million over five years.

With this award, DOL is giving GRA and FYI the opportunity, using simplified proposals, to complete work in the areas of:

• Program development, analysis and evaluation
• Information technology
• Curriculum development and training
• Financial management

David Bachrach, FYI’s Director of Management Services, oversees FYI’s day-to-day work at the Department, and contributed significantly to the winning proposal. “We are DOL’s go-to vendor for all kinds of management support services. This makes it easier for agencies in need to ask us for help.” According to Bachrach, FYI has been responsible for all kinds of behind-the-scenes help in Washington and among the regions. “We helped DOL to digest thousands of public comments on its Federal Register announcement of changes to the Family and Medical Leave Act. We educated deploying service members in the states on their rights to re-employment after they complete their overseas missions. Over the next five years, when DOL needs help with conference management, web site design, help desk administration or course design, FYI will help GRA to deliver great products and services, at great value to the Government.” FYI has completed work on over 100 task orders for DOL.

Richard Kaiser, FYI’s Senior Vice President, was impressed with GRA as a partner. “GRA has the right corporate culture, the right senior leadership, to continue the good work we’re doing at DOL. They know DOL very well, and run a tight ship. This was the right marriage for both companies.” FYI submitted its first proposal under the new BPA within four days of award, and began work on it within two weeks, developing management reports for the Departmental Budget Center, a long-time FYI customer.
